چکیده
Abstract Background Patients with multivessel disease (MVD) are at increased risk of recurrent cardiovascular (CV) events in the early period after acute myocardial infarction (AMI) compared to patients without MVD, possibly due atherosclerotic burden. Moreover, many have additional factors such as older age, peripheral artery (PAD), prior AMI or diabetes that could further increase events. Real-world evidence regarding impact CV on outcomes MVD remains sparse. Purpose To assess clinical a UK cohort and factors. Methods A retrospective analysis (January 1, 2008–December 31, 2018, inclusive) was conducted using Clinical Practice Research Datalink database linked Hospital Episode Statistics Office National databases identify confirmed diagnosis within study least one non-fatal (MI) code their first recorded diagnosis. The effect assessed by comparing diagnosed index those no concurrent (MVD+DM MVD-DM cohorts, respectively). were also but two including: age >65 years, PAD MI (MVD2RF+ cohort), single none aforementioned (MVD2RF- cohort). Major adverse (MACE) defined composite AMI, stroke death. Results Of 78,128 identified, 19,768 52,197 eligible for inclusion MVD+DM cohorts respectively. Occurrence MACE similar between both 90 days (15% vs. 14%) 1 year (19% 17%) post-AMI; however, all-cause mortality significantly higher over (p<0.001). In subset diabetes, 7,531 44,666 met criteria MVD2RF+ MVD2RF- substantially proportion experienced post-MI (90 days: 45% 9%; year: 56% 11%), accounting majority Kaplan-Meier survival revealed than Conclusions Having multiple including history increases particularly AMI. Strategies reduce systemic burden these needed. Funding Acknowledgement Type funding sources: Private company. Main source(s): CSL Behring

CONTEXT Metabolic changes and smoking are common among HIV patients and may confer increased cardiovascular risk. OBJECTIVE The aim of the study was to determine acute myocardial infarction (AMI) rates and cardiovascular risk factors in HIV compared with non-HIV patients in two tertiary care hospitals. DESIGN, SETTING, AND PARTICIPANTS We conducted a health care system-based cohort study us...

Acute myocardial infarction (AMI) is one of the main leading causes of mortality and morbidity. Despite the progress in the treatment of AMI, streptokinase is still being used in many countries. Because of the critical condition of patients with AMI and complications of streptokinase therapy, this study was performed to evaluate the pattern of adverse drug reaction (ADRs) induced by streptokina...

متن کاملBody mass index and the risk of recurrent coronary events following acute myocardial infarction.
Although excess adiposity appears to increase the risk of coronary heart disease in the general population, its importance in patients with established coronary disease is less defined. We evaluated a population-based inception cohort of survivors to hospital discharge following first acute myocardial infarction (AMI) (n = 2,541) to assess the association between body mass index (BMI) and the r...
